Next Up On TV is developed by Nicolas Sabatier, an independent developer. For any questions, email nextupontv@gmail.com.

What the app does

Next Up On TV is a TV show tracking app. It lets you search for shows and manage your library, progress and upcoming releases directly on your iPhone. No account is required. You may import a local file or optionally connect a Trakt or BetaSeries account to import or sync the actions you choose.

Data processed

Next Up On TV does not operate any server of its own to collect or store your personal data.

Library, progress and preferences

Storage: locally on your device.

Purpose: to operate the app, including offline.

Searches and show metadata

Transmission: search terms and show identifiers are sent to TVMaze to retrieve show and episode records. If TVMaze does not recognise a title, the search may also be sent to BetaSeries without an account to find its French title.

Purpose: to display the requested results, summaries, images and schedules.

Account identifiers and authentication tokens

Source: Trakt or BetaSeries, only when you connect one of these services.

Storage: the secure iOS Keychain.

Purpose: to connect your account and perform the import or sync you requested. The relevant watch actions are then sent to the service you enabled.

Import files

Processing: Trakt, BetaSeries or Simkl files you select are parsed locally on the device. The required titles and identifiers are then looked up through TVMaze to create local records.

Purchase status

Source and storage: managed by Apple through StoreKit when a purchase is offered.

Purpose: to unlock the relevant features. Next Up On TV does not receive or store any payment card details.

Third-party services and network communication

The app uses TVMaze for its catalogue and search. It may use BetaSeries as a French-title index without an account, or with your account if you choose import and sync. Connecting to Trakt is also optional. When you tap a streaming-availability link, the app opens JustWatch. Purchases and restorations are processed by Apple.

These services may receive your IP address, technical information required for the request and, for an account you connected, the identifiers and actions needed for the feature you requested. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies.

On-device translation

Translations offered by the app are performed directly on your device whenever the feature is available. Your library content is not sent to an advertising or analytics service.

What we do not do

  • No analytics, advertising tracking or profiling tools.
  • No collection of data for advertising purposes.
  • No sale of your personal data.
  • No personal data stored on a server belonging to Next Up On TV.

Your rights and deleting your data

Deleting the app removes the library, progress and preferences stored locally. However, an anonymous timestamp marking the start of the trial may remain in the iOS Keychain to prevent the trial from being reset by reinstalling the app. This timestamp contains no name, email address or advertising identifier.

If you connect Trakt or BetaSeries, you can disconnect the service from the app’s settings. Data held by those services remains managed through your account with the relevant service.

Children

Next Up On TV is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16. Optional use of Trakt or BetaSeries is subject to the terms of the relevant service.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be mentioned in the release notes.
